Part 1: Brand Visuals
Usually those coming to me for a website don’t have any branding figured out, or hate the look of everything they have. Which is great! Because bringing life and style to your website’s brand is my thing.
Style tiles are visual boards displaying various web elements designed in your brand’s look and feel. This includes anything you typically see on websites like supporting graphics, image treatment, call-to-actions, typography, buttons, and colours. Sending through a few style tile options first gives you an opportunity to adjust the brand look and feel before seeing a fully designed website mockup. If you go ahead with style tiles first you will get a brand look but no official ‘logo’.
This option is ideal for businesses with: a) Not much of a budget/timeframe to work with but also want beautiful visuals b) a logo that could stay (or has to stay) but an overarching visual identity that has gone a bit feral over time and needs to go.
One step further than style tiles, you can go for the complete branding experience. This package will be a high-end, professional establishment of your visual brand.
The branding process is as followed:1. Brand Discovery Worksheets: The worksheets will be different depending on your business model. They include strategy work such as customer research, vision boards.
2. Brand Strategy Meeting: We will have another meeting talking about what you discovered while doing the exercises.
3. Brand Mood boards Concepts: I will then design mood boards of what I would do with your brand visuals based on everything you discovered. These moodboards will cover things like colours, suggested fonts, image treatment, illustrations, supporting design assets and so on.
4. Wordmarks Concepts: In this step, I will send you the designed wordmark based on the preferred font from the chosen moodboard. The wordmark will be customised so you have a completely unique brand. It will be supplied to you in all possible file types you might need (eps, jpg, png)
Part 2: Website
Once we’ve discussed your website’s scope and you approve the site map and proposal, I start with designing a mockup of what your homepage will look like. A mockup is a static detailed preview (non interactive) of one page.
The website will be built in Wordpress using a custom theme. It will be built locally (on my computer) and then moved over to replace your current site after final approval and payment.
The first development phase is building the homepage and overall website styles that will transfer over to the internal pages. The website will be responsive to display correctly on all devices. Once the stage site is approved, internal page build begins and the invoice for the first phase is sent.
After go live
I consider it essential in my role to provide you with a site you can manage yourself. A 2 hour detailed website handover lesson will be organised after it goes live and you will be taught how to maintain the site. Don’t worry I grab a backup of your site and answer any questions you have afterwards.
When I build the website I set your analytics on your website. We organising a 2 monthly meeting to review how users are interacting with your site, and what can be changed based on this information (further changes to the site are charged additionally.
Please note, the goal of this analytics isn’t to increase your google ranking (where you appear in a google search), it’s to provide you with the data insights to understanding how your users are interacting with your site.
